I have been entering competitions now for over 20 years and have won my share of brilliant money can't buy prizes and as a new year starts the prizes are still rolling in, in the form of a pram/buggy from Pushchair trader, a family pass for a local basket ball game, £500 Tesco vouchers for a crafty competition I entered in October, a Sebo union jack hoover from House Beautiful magazine and a holiday for 2 to Ibiza from a local radio station. I just love my hobby as I never know from one day to the next what the post, an email or a phone call might bring me. Competitions have changed over the years but what hasn't changed is the amount of fantastic prizes on offer and there's always plenty to go around. So my advice to anyone who might be thinking of entering a competition for the first time is DO IT NOW, you have nothing to lose and possible a lot to gain! And to all my fellow compers, may 2013 bring you your best prize EVER ! Happy Comping xx

A 'wheel' of cheese!!
Sunday, January 27, 2013
I love the December advent comps... I start preparing in November...all the Christmas shopping and wrapping is done before December 1st, just so I can enter them every day!
I couldn't believe it when I got a message from Jarlsberg on Facebook to say I was their 'wheel' of cheese winner. A wheel we discovered weighed in at a HUGE 10kg!!
We're enjoying finding different ways of using it and have re-discovered our fondue set, so have been hosting retro fondue evenings for our friends!

I won a Urban Decay goodie box from Debenhams Facebook page. This had a selection of make-up and creams in very fancy boxes It came just after the Christmas so it was a lovely surprise.. This was my first Facebook comp so I was very pleased. I only won a handful of prizes last year so I am determined to work harder and get more prizes.I am also trying more photo comps and entered lots of snowman photos.
January Clean
Friday, January 25, 2013
I started comping a year ago when I started my maternity leave. It took a while to start winning but then the e-mails and parcels started arriving and it was the best feeling ever, I had a great year and won lots of fab prizes. So far this month I have won 2 tickets to the edible garden show, a year's supply of oven clean and a £200 voucher to get my house cleaned .... what an amazing start! ThePrizefinder is the best site and I really thank you. xx
Snowy scenes
Friday, January 25, 2013
After getting inspiration from other compers I entered a few comps with my daughter's snowman snowy picture. Much to my surprise we have won three comps with it so far. The prizes include a tub of retro sweets, a sudocrem mousse goody bag and the one I can't wait to arrive is my daughter's snowman picture being turned into a canvas, so it was well worth taking the time out to enter and thanks to ThePrizefinder and Superlucky Di for your great comps.
Xbox 360 Win
Wednesday, January 23, 2013
I have had quite a good last 6 months where my comping is concerned. At the start did not win at all but they say never give up. In April I won a two night stay at Ragdale health hydro which was so relaxing. Lately I have been entering more Facebook competitions and really wanted to win an iPad as I couldn't afford one.
One Friday afternoon I received an email from Canter Levin and Berg to say I was one of 5 winners. I was overjoyed. Then on 5th January a parcel was left with my neighbour whilst I was at work. When I opened it I had won an XBox 360. My son couldn't stop running around the room lol. This competition was by Flora for Christmas and I had picked a winning reindeer! Here's to a lucky 2013!!!!
A good start to the year
Tuesday, January 22, 2013
I started entering competitions in November 2011 and have won some really nice prizes. So far in January I have won a Pepsi T Shirt, and a designer bag from a competition run by Look. Then late last night I decided to enter a couple of instant win competitions. First I won some sweets from Cybercandy, then I won a butter spreader from Kingsmill. Then I won a Steam Iron from Buy as You View!!! I can't believe it! 3 prizes in 1/2 hour!!! Thanks to everyone who puts the effort in posting competitions. Without you it would be very hard to enter competitions! I don't have a picture of any of these yet so I have uploaded a picture of one of my December wins - £100 worth of Toys and Games.
Lip balm and Parelli
Sunday, January 20, 2013
I was wondering if it was worth continuing with the entering when last week a jiffy bag arrived with my name on it. My husband asked me accusingly 'what have you ordered now?'. It was a Rodial Glam Blam, and then on Friday I had an email to say I had won 2 tickets to the Parelli Horse and Soul tour. So thrilled with both and I will keep on with the entering and who knows what is around the corner.

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Smaller prizes from various advents then £50 itunes voucher from Classic FM, then Tom Tom sat nav from Allianz Cover and just today I received a large bix and inside was a EA7 Emporio Armani golfbag woirth over £500!
Going down in history
Saturday, January 19, 2013
Some years ago when I didn’t quite know what my future held due to a serious illness. I kept thinking about my Dad telling me how much he had enjoyed his job as a builder and that he’d left his mark. What was my mark? Would I be remembered?
Then I entered and won a competition to name a bar at a new Premier Inn and I named it Barley Twist chosen due to my local town’s historical links to both the agricultural and confectionary industries. I was over the moon. The sign is there for all to see and the name of the bar has been added to the list of Doncaster pubs and inns in the local archive department!
Yes I enjoyed spending the £300 vouchers on an Edinburgh trip but to me this win means so much more.
Now I am addicted to comping and glad to be a member of ThePrizefinder.
