There I was sat with my feet up having a coffee watching the live stream of AOL online on my laptop when suddenly my phone rang....no way could it be AOL I thought.... but it was....my heart was racing as I answered, yes it was AOL and I had won a fabulous American Bosch fridge freezer. I was running round the house as mad as a hatter haha... it's fully installed and working like a dream - my best win ever.

  • And the wins continue

I started comping with Theprizefinder about 6 weeks ago and what a six weeks I have had. In July I told how beginner's luck had meant me winning a £100 Waterstones voucher and two tickets to the Hampton Court Flower Show. Well, we are now into August and the wins continue. As August started I won a Mosquito Zap-it bite relief device and then a download copy of 'big TV' by White Lies from Sky. This was quickly followed by a telephone call from Heart Radio informing me that I had won a £500 shopping voucher at my local Intu shopping precinct which is at Thurrock Lakeside. Shortly after that again from Heart radio, I had an e-mail that I had won a VIP visit for me and three other guests to the advance screening of the film 'The Way, Way Back'. Then on the 24th August the postman delivered a paperback book called 'swimming pool summer' and also a bottle of David Beckham eau de toilette - WOW - what a six weeks. I now recommend Theprizefinder to all my family who are becoming avid compers themselves. Thank you Theprizefinder and keep the up good work.

This month has been great for me as I've had my most wins! My first win of the year was a pink Sodastream with 2 free flavours! After this win I couldn't stop entering competitions but I didn't win anything for a few months until June, when I won a £50 voucher for Missguided, which I soon spent!
August has been my best month so far, winning a £50 voucher for Internacionale, £50 voucher for Aftershock London, ASOS socks and a New Look goody bag! I know they're small prizes but it's better than nothing and I hope for many more wins!

  • Just another comping month!

    Hi Di and Prizefinder,

Just had a bumper comping month with five prizes. None of them were whoppers but all were gratefully received!

The month started with a visit to the dentist and then a stressful day having the central heating boiler serviced. What I needed was a glass of wine...kapow! A case of four bottles from Blossom Hill on Facebook. Their Summer Collection here just in time for the heatwave.

I do love to win shopping vouchers and Lavender and Lovage obliged with £75 of Sainsbury’s vouchers the following week. We made a day of travelling to Scarborough to our nearest Sainsbury’s store. The sun was shining and we had a picnic lunch then filled the car boot with goodies - all free! The store also had a “spend £60 get 10 a litre off fuel” promotion so we filled up the car too!

Ping! An e mail from The Telegraph Newspaper telling me I had won £50 of M & S vouchers cheered me up the following week. I had told them what I was doing to make someone's day delicious. Now I have no idea what I said or if indeed it was just a random draw but the vouchers certainly made our week delicious. The dine in for £10 deal was running and had a veggie option for my o/h. I chose Goats cheese pasties (in the freezer as it’s too hot to cook them at the moment), new potatoes with butter and herbs, fresh berries and a bottle of Rose wine. Three Quiches for £6 were another bargain (2 of them still in the freezer). I am going to spend the rest of this win to celebrate the Bank Holiday and finger crossed the Dine In deal is running again.

I love my postie and always give him a good tip at Christmas but just when he seemed to be letting me down he brought a cheque from the RSPCA Lottery, £10. Keep up the good work Dean!

Facebook came up trumps with another win from Percol coffee. A jar of Kilamanjaro and a frother. Now I have never used a frother and there was no instructions. I frothed my milk all over the kitchen worktops!

I am 63 and won my first competition way back in 1958 from Princess magazine - a writing case with Basildon Bond paper and envelopes. I love the way comping keeps me young. I am always learning new things and meeting new people.

Roll on my Diamond Comping Anniversary in 2018.

  • My Shock Wins

I started entering comps seriously after my first win in Feb 2011. I will never ever forget that win, it was £1,000 from Chevrolet!! I never imagined I would win but I did, that money is well and truly spent but since then I have used ThePrizeFinder to enter competitions and have won lots of small wins. Nothing big in money terms but I would say my biggest win of all is the friends I have made through entering competitions who I would never have met otherwise.
In the 3 years of winning I have won £1,000 cash, a Panasonic HD camcorder and most recently £500 of clothing to spend on Fearne Cotton at Very!!
My dream win is an iPad or a laptop as mine is poorly :(
I am most looking forward to this Xmas, as for all you new compers out there, the Advent calendar comps will really grasp you, they truly fetch Xmas alive again for us adults!!

  • My Luckiest Month Ever

    Posted by Higson

    Wednesday, August 21, 2013

After a quiet July with only two wins I kept on going, then August became the luckiest month ever in a year of comping. First came my biggest win ever! I was in shock, I couldn't speak or believe my eyes. I received a WEM from the Post Office informing me I had won a trip for 2 to Sydney Australia with flights, 7 nights in a 4 * hotel with breakfast and much more - a dream come true! I was amazed but it didn't end there. Next came a DVD from Smooth FM, Cereal and bars from Special K, Basket ball from Smart Shoppers, pancakes from Abra-ca-Debora, a bottle of Pepsi from Pepsi and then a WEM from Best Loved Hotels to say I had won 2 nights for 2 with dinner in Buckinghamshire. I love my amazing hobby and thank you to ThePrizeFinder for your amazing site.

  • Two Wins in Two Days!

    Wednesday, August 21, 2013

I've been using this site for a while now, with absolutely no luck, and just as I was about to give up I got an e-mail from Tesco Books - I had won their grand prize! I had won a bag from The Cambridge Satchel Company and a Burts Bees goody bag. My luck didn't end there... I got a comment on my Instagram that I had won with Fudge Hair! I had won a chance to film with Fudge, advertising their new 'Big Hair' products as well as a HUGE bundle of Fudge Hair goodies, with more coming in the post.
Just stick to it, even when you think it's never gonna happen; someone has to win, why can't it be you?
    Good luck!!

  • My Hamper Win

    Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Still having lots of amazing wins. I've started searching for my own competitions and found a competition for a £75 goody bag which ended in a few hours and nobody had entered. You just had to write a comment under a review. I wondered if I was doing it right but I just read the review and told them what I thought about it. A week later, I had a winning email to say I had won. I found the competition again and saw there was only 1 other comment along with mine - I couldn't believe it! Only 2 entries and I won. It includes sunglasses, book and skin products and to top it off a week later I had a winning email telling me I came runner up in the Harveys Heritage competition and I won a retro sweet hamper. There were hundreds of entries so it's worth entering all sorts - you still have a chance!

  • First win after only a few days!

I wanted to thank ThePrizefinder for helping me win my first prize. I decided to start entering competitions on here recently, but didn't really expect to win.
After only a few days of "comping" a congratulations email appeared in my inbox, telling me I'd won a pair of tickets to the Popfest concert at Castle Howard,
My husband and I had a great time watching the show, on a lovely sunny evening, surrounded by stunning scenery. Thank you Prizefinder.

I love comping and any win is a good one.

I was going to buy a pair of trainers last month but I couldn't afford them, but low and behold that very same day I got notified of a Facebook win of... yes you guessed it a pair of trainers.

They are worth £60 and I love them!

I love my fab hobby and this fab website! Good luck all :)
