Only been comping a few weeks and I've had my second win already. I got a winning email from All About Space magazine to say I won their prize draw for a Celestron computerised Skyprodigy90 telescope worth £750. Very, very pleased and loving comping. It's a fantastic feeling when you see that "Congratulations" email in your inbox.

Today a rather embarrassing prize came in the post - a maternity swimsuit (only I'm not pregnant anymore!)
It was a strange win for me, as I remember pausing before I entered that competition to question 'why am I even submitting this!?' I told myself 'why not', and thought nothing more of it.
Well I've just tried this on and it fits brilliantly (oh dear). As my tummy is only full of curry and rice right now, it's rather embarrassing to admit that a maternity swimsuit is far more comfortable than a normal one. I'd not normally buy either, so this prize is a lovely little indulgence for me. One day I will be wearing it as a pregnant lady again, but for now - it's just hiding my tubby tummy.
Although I'm secretly delighted with this prize, I'm also too nervous to tell my friends and family about it in case they assume another baby is on the way - That'd be a long wait for them!

So I started entering competitions in March of this year, just for something to do really. Problem was I got addicted and despite not winning, and I do mean NOTHING I haven't been able to stop! My family thought I was the craziest person on the planet - spending hours entering literally a 1,000 comps per week and getting nothing in return.

Then, this morning I actually won something! I was so in shock I had to keep reading and re-reading the email! Finally! And what better than diamonds! In fact my initial made up of them in a white gold setting worth approx. £250!

I can honestly say that I am so excited I haven't actually stopped smiling yet!

Thank you ThePrizefinder and to every other crazy person who blogs here for encouraging me to keep going and not give up.

I know everyone says 'I never win anything!' Well for me, that was literally the case - I have never won a thing, nowt, naddah, zilch.....until today!! Now, I know for most people, these will seem like such a piddly thing, but for me it's massive; I have FINALLY won something for the first time in my 38 years!! I received through the post this morning a ceramic pen that I won in the Kyocera Facebook competition and I'm as pleased as punch. This is all thanks to this site, so thank you PrizeFinder - let's hope it's not another 30+ years until the next win!

  • Fantastic Holiday in Austria

    Thank you so much Theprizefinder!

We have just arrived back from a fabulous holiday in Wilder Kaiser, Austria. A wonderful prize from Twinings tea, entered after finding it on your site!

Twinings & Wilder Kaiser were fantastic, allowing us to pay extra to take our son along too!

This is a holiday that we would have never considered booking, we are normally found on a sun lounger on a hot beach lol, but we had one of our best holidays ever. Best of all it has opened our eyes to a whole new array of holiday possibilities for the future!

We climbed mountains, waded through rivers, abseiled & sang drinking songs in a traditional Austrian pub!

This is a photo of my wife wading through mud in Scheffau on the Kneipp trail, a kind of holistic walk through the forest with various stations, all invented by a doctor to promote well being. Even after all the walking we had done, I felt like my feet had wings after the Kneipp trail!

We even managed a 2 days at the mountain side swimming pool in Ellmau, so the sunbeds were not entirely deserted!

I have only really started entering competitions in the last few weeks while the kids were off school and took over my TV every morning on my days off work.

I never thought I would win anything but today I came home to a parcel a Huge Bag of Palmers Skin Products! Soooo pleased :-) Kids go back to school tomorrow and now on my mornings off I'll still be entering competitions!!

Thanks PrizeFinder, it makes finding competitions so much easier.

  • I got my mojo back!!

    Sunday, September 1, 2013

I lost my blogging mojo over the summer and had almost given up. I entered the odd competition here and there (mostly on Twitter) and won a couple of good bits - a St Tropez Tanning Set, bluetooth headphones, tickets to the Southport Flower Show and a Tapas Revolution Cooking book.

Then I was checking Facebook when I saw the Rice Krispies Smiler post to win Alton Towers tickets with the addition of a Smiler Fast Track pass - I started my carriage and called my mum, dad and husband to get to and on our first attempt we won!

Spurred on by my success I decided to head back to ThePrizeFinder on Thursday night and clicked on to the Closing Soon page - I entered about 5 competitions before shutting my laptop and heading to bed too tired.

The next day I was shopping in ASDA after work when my phone rang from a London number - It was XFM!! I'd won £1,000 and a crate of Bulmers in their final weekly draw. I had entered it just the night before by telling them my song to start the weekend! I'm ecstatic - you never let me down TPF!!! Now my mojo's well and truly back!!!

  • Going Potty!

I wasn't convinced about the authenticity of doing online competitions until my partner started doing them last year and had a few nice household wins, nothing worth more than about £50 per prize but enough to make me want to give it a go myself! Within my first few days I couldn't believe my luck when I won a case of beer through a Facebook competition that I simply had to like and share! That was in June. And to my surprise a large white van pulled up outside my house last week with a princess musical potty I entered for my daughter who is only 6 months at the moment but it's a nice win to put away! We are hoping that between us we may be able to win something we cant afford ourselves such as a holiday or some cash to help us out. Either way we are fighting over the computer each night now!

Here's hoping next month will be just as good, or has my beginner's luck run out? Only time will tell!
