  • Getting the thrill back!

I have been comping on and off since 2001, had a break for a few years then got back into it all. Unfortunately I took really ill Xmas a few years back and I couldn't get my head back into the game.

At the beginning of this month I went into a panic as this was thw first Christmas I had won absolutely nothing for my kids! It was the first Christmas in 12 years I had nothing.

My instant thought was theprizefinder.com, and try my hand at the daily comps, of course forgetting that December sees Advent Time!

Since Ive been back doing competitions for the last three weeks I'm actually surprised at how much I have won!

    A Pringle Speaker
    Mousemat
    Xbox FIFA 2013 Game
A Jumper From Next for son
Face Cream from The Stella hourly Draw
and a crate of Bondi Beer!

It's actually spurred me on to keep up to date with closing soon comps and here's hoping I can report some more wins very soon.

There's no excuses now with the wonderful tracker in place, makes things so much easier! My next goal is to win a tablet for hubbie's 60th in January.

On first discovering ThePrizefinder I had an initial spurt of good luck, winning a Claridges Afternoon Tea voucher, £1,000 worth of Staples office equipment and £1,000 with Real Radio + several other smaller prizes within the space of around 18 months. Over the past 4-5 months I seemed to have reached a bit of a lull, just winning a couple of small prizes/giveaways and was starting to lose heart - figuring I'd exhausted my lucky streak. I then however discovered the Advent Comps - initially I just won smaller prizes, several through Pringles (magazine voucher, speaker etc) - however today I've had an email saying I've won the Origins skin care prize for the 22nd. This has now spurred me on to have a bit of a blitz in the hope my lucky streak has returned!

A big thank you to Prizefinder and a HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

  • Anyone for Coffee?

    Saturday, December 22, 2012

I had been entering the 'Closing Soon' section on Prize Finder for a while now. I always check my emails on my phone hoping for a lovely WEM to be waiting for me. This one afternoon I got one from Nisa saying I had won a NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto Machine. I literally ran up the road to tell my other half. I expected one of the smaller machines but I actually received a 'Circola Play & Select' machine worth £170. I'm over the moon as this is a product I could never afford to buy. It's a lovely treat that I can share with my fiancee :) Times like this is when I remember why I put so much time and effort into comping - it's so worth it!

Whilst the last few months have been slow on wins I'm hoping things will start to pick up in the new year, new start and all that.

Recently I have won a Thomas the tank engine DVD from an Advent comp, The Mentalist series 4 DVD set, 1 month's supply of pasta, and a Missoni headband worth £69

I still love the thrill of never knowing what's going to pop through your door.

  • Winning my gift list!

Having had a break from competitions for a few years, I decided to give this fun hobby a whirl again, and decided to allow at least an hour a day entering comps,be it online, FB, postcard and even slogans.

Within weeks I had got my first win which made me almost fall out of my chair. For my parents Xmas pressie, I ordered a daylight craft lamp from an online store, as they are struggling to see at night to read. It came, but was cheaply made and difficult to assemble so I sent it back.

TO MY SURPRISE the next day a letter cam from a crafting magazine to say I had won first prize ...which was... TWO Daylight craft Lamps, worth £70.00 each!! This was a little known comp I had heard about after following tips from these great websites.

This has followed by a case full of spicy peppers, a years worth of yoghurt and today...a high quality lipstick and Christmas Bubbly!

I'm so thrilled and it's a good indication that my reignited enthusiasm for this great hobby is paying off, not only in prizes, but new friends on the forums/FB and a great sense of time well spent!..Fingers crossed for the biggie soon!

  • I won 2 Christmas Hampers in a week

    Thursday, December 20, 2012

Back in Late October I entered The Dickinson and Morris 12 days of Christmas competition.
You had to write a poem or song based on the 12 days of Christmas featuring there products.
I was the 2nd entry in I think and to be honest I didn't hold out much luck as I thought I would get lost at the bottom of the pile. I checked back on there page the day of the winners announcementnon Dec 12th and was delighted to see I had won! The prize a luxury hamper full of food and drink in a lovely wicker basket.

I hadn't been doing many comps lately but my win spurred me on to get back into the comping swing so last week I entered quite a few but stuck to stuff I really wanted. Then on Monday I got an email saying I had won another luxury hamper this time filled with Tesco finest goodies and extras courtesy of Tesco books and Cathy Kelly. This was for a competition where you had to write a blog post on Tesco books page about what Christmas means to you. I wrote mine in the form of a poem so I guess it helped me stand out.

Christmas was going to be a struggle this year but these hampers will really help make it a special time for our family as the money I saved on food can be used else where.

  • A good week!

I have been entering competitions primarily on this site for about 5 months now. Up until last week all I had won was a box of chocolates, a random book and a £200 off offer on some blinds that would cost me over £2500 (pushy salesman!). Last week however I won an Optishot golf simulator worth just under £500, a torch courtesy of pringles, a spicy mexican cheese board and an Xmas cake worth £60. It's been a good week :). It makes the nights of form filling very worthwhile.

  • Lots of booby prizes!

This month has a great one for me. Plenty of 'booby' prizes which I'm delighted about. I'm currently pregnant so have been concentrating on prizes that may be useful for our new arrival. My first win of December was a pair of washable breast pads via a rafflecopter competition. I also won a DVD What to Expect When You're Expecting. I was over the moon to read my winning email from Carrentals with the news I'd won £100 in high street vouchers, followed a few days later by a winning email for £75 voucher for Peaks of London who sell designer breastfeeding clothes. I also won a lipstick from Revlon via Facebook. My most recent win is a nursing bra from Cantaloop via Facebook which should be arriving before Christmas. I'm delighted with my wins this month, they are things I will make good use of and it's nice to have a few treats at Christmas time :)

  • At last - a top prize instead of runner up!

    Monday, December 17, 2012

I have been using this site for a few months now on and off. I've had a few little wins here and there - usually the runner up prize, but this month I have had a good run of luck. I won a £140 watch on the watches4u daily comp, £100 pamper hamper from The Guardian, a £40 bracelet - all from competitions I have found on here. I have now got the competition bug and I'm loving all the advent competitions at the moment, winning vouchers for TomTom, Brothers cider merchandise, Pringles merchandise, music downloads, Dr who books, John Frieda haircare set and a mystery gift from Kelloggs, all via the facebook advent competitions. I always thought these competitions were a fix but now I'm well and truly hooked. I can't believe I have won so much in space of a few weeks. Thank you Prizefinder.

I won a fantastic Samsung Galaxy SIII this month with Tesco Phone Shop.
I only use ThePrizeFinder website to enter all my competitions. I log on everyday to look at the new competitions and then onto closing soon comps. In the past year I have won an iPod docking station, 6 bottles of champagne, house phone, wifi radio, golf sat nav and golf balls, a sack of horse food and a winter coat for my horse.
    Hope my luck continues...
All the best and thanks for the great site.
