  • A Year of Comping

    Thursday, January 31, 2013

So it's a year to the day since I discovered 'comping' and started entering all different types of competitions. I consider that I have been amazingly lucky and have had some great wins including a pre-Bafta makeover, festival tickets, a microwave, jewellery and most recently a marmalade making kit to name a few. My favourite competitions tend to be postcard and text competitions but I will try anything and I'm definitely after that 'big' win!

Lots of my friends ask how I win so many and I always point them in your direction. So, thank you so much ThePrizefinder, I would be lost without you.

  • More winnings!

    Thursday, January 31, 2013

Since my last story, I've been more active in my competition entering and I've now won Animal Circus wall stickers for my little boy's nursery, a jumper via SheLikes twitter #freebiefriday competition (pictured), a Kingsmill travel flask via their instant win comp on Facebook, a pack of 9-bar cereal bars via their daily Facebook comp, a teething blanket from MAM and a hooded baby towel - all in the month of January! Can't believe it. I had a dry spell for about a week where I felt a bit deflated but it's true; it really will pick up!

It keeps you busy and is fun too, and even better when the prizes come though.
January started well needless to say, I won my first prize on the 5th day.
A PlayStation mag subscription what a nice treat, We love the playstation so that was quite neat.
Next came a giftset from a caption contest, Then a lovely cushion for a pin to win comp on pinterest.
Then in the middle of the month I got a lovely surprise, an email to say I had won a much wanted prize.
A years worth of coffee from Lavazza no less, They make delicious coffee it's really the best.
But that was not all the prizes continued to come, I won a lovely baking kit on Twitter it was quite fun.
And lastly some beer vouchers, posh aftershave and a onesie with a hood.
I only hope that Febuary is as lucky, Eventful and good.
So if your thinking of joining this fabulous hobby I have this to say.

  • Unexpected Surprise

    Thursday, January 31, 2013

My first win this year and I don't know where it came from! I was beginning to think my luck had gone untll I answered the door yesterday thinking the delivery man was leaving me yet another parcel for next door.
Yeh it was for me, and I hadn't ordered anything. I excitedly opened it up and won a marmalade making kit, everything provided apart from products to make with it.
I'm definitely continuing to enter, lovely unexpected prize at door, sometimes they are the best because they really are instant.

A quiet month for wins but I won a Chocolate Fountain from Persil, a 'Gangsters, Guns and Zombies' DVD which arrived without notification and an instant win Kingsmill Apron. Nothing big but it is nice to win something. Good luck to everyone in the end of the month draws (I have lost count how many I have entered).
And for those people who doubt that you will win anything I had honestly never won anything since a competition in Shoot when I was 13 before joining The Prize Finder in November 2012 and now I have won 20 prizes of various sizes and values.
Just enter as many as you can and odds are you will win something even if it is something small. Keep comping and keep winning people :-)

  • A handsome hamper

    Wednesday, January 30, 2013

I love the kind of competition wins that are a complete surprise - no Facebook tag, no email, no phone call, just a big exciting parcel when you least expect it!

I came home from the farm shop on Monday to find a UPS card on the doormat saying they had left a box in my storage bin in the garden.

Inside was a lovely surprise treat - a beatifully presented and filled Gardners Trug hamper from Rainbow Flowers & gifts. Inside were luxury jams, cookies, crackers, tea, honeycomb and coulee, all presented in a traditional wooden Trug.

I had no idea who I had won this through, so I emailed The gift company. They kindly informed me that It was a prize from Garden Answers magazine.

We have so far only tested the oaty flip & choc chip cookies- decadent and moorish!

A really lovely surprise treat for my whole family - this is what keeps us all comping isn't it!

I used to enter competitions every so often but in July last year I received a picnic basket from Lakeland which I didn't even know that I had won. It felt great, the winning and the surprise, so I decided to enter more reguarly using competition sites.
I started late August and between the beginning of September and the End of December I won a total of 60 prizes with a value of around £3300+
My best prizes were ones that involved my partner and kids. There were a few of these including a Family Ticket for Thorpe Park for a date of our choice, Petrol Allowance and Money for Food and Drink and the best prize I have ever won - A family Trip to Chessington (Through Vanish Greatest Escape) which included a night in the hotel for all of us, A family Annual Pass, Zoo Keeper for the Day Experience for the two older children, and toys and gifts left in the hotel room for all 3 of them (A value of over £1000!!). We haven't taken this yet and are booked in for 23rd March this year.
I have so much fun comping and honestly don't know what I would do without it. The thrill of winning is amazing...hopefully it will carry on as I haven't won since December :(

Good Luck to all the compers out there :)

I only started doing competitions since Christmas but I have been doing them everyday using the closing soon section on ThePrizefinder.

Three days ago I received a random envelope containing a £20 Ticketmaster gift card and today I have had a twitter and email to say that I won a trip for 4 to the London Dungeons via a rafflecopter win.

I am so excited and I love telling my husband what prizes we have entered for that day when he gets home from work.

Two prizes in one week and I am going to keep on comping.

Thank you ThePrizefinder for being such a welcoming and easy to use website.
