I just love entering competitions, especially using ThePrizefinder. It's so easy to use, and I can pick and choose what I would really like to win. Last week I had a phone call from the mailbox in Birmingham. Me being cynical thought they were trying to sell me something, but no I had won a competition. Wonderful and I shrieked as they told me I had won £500 to spend at Harvey Nichols in the Mailbox. Never had I even been in there, so off I went for the day with my mum and was treated to champagne and the most entertaining helpful staff. I loved every single minute and came home with some lovely goodies that I would never have bought as I would never have been able to afford them. Thank you ThePrizefinder for finding such great comps for us all to enter.

  • New Baby Luck!

Since December, I have entered 1000+ competitions and have had a real dry spell with no wins. It can really get you down and you sometimes feel like you are putting in the hours and really trying your best for very little if no return or reward. So, I was very relieved to get an email from ThePrizefinder telling me that my previous winners story had been picked to receive the £50 shopping voucher prize, which turned out to be a £50 Argos gift card. Although I am still disappointed that nothing has come of any of the comps I have entered this year, at least ThePrizefinder has come to my rescue with a really useful win! Thanks for choosing my winners story, it was just in time as we welcomed our first baby girl into the world in February so I spent the voucher on a much needed bit of baby equipment, an electric steriliser! I will try and keep up comping in between baby feeds and hope for a big win in 2013 :-)

  • Naughty cat wins a washer!

On the 8th of March, I tuned into Appliances Online's live webstream - wishing but not really thinking that I'd win.

Towards the end, you had to upload a picture of your washing machine to win a new washing machine.

I quickly yelled at hubby to help me upload a picture we have of our naughty cat Minx, who LOVES to sneak into the washing machine, and then gives you a look like 'Yes. I did it again'.

I watched, and to my dismay, another picture was shown, and a number was put up to call. I didn't write the # down as it was the last competition of the night.

A few minutes later, it turned out that the picture the guy had posted was a FAKE and they were selecting another picture that was uploaded to thier website.

I quickly typed in below my upload that I didn't have thier number - just in case.. and sure enough, my picture of Minx was flashed up! I quickly dialled, and now, I am waiting to take delivery of a new washing machine. (Hopefully Minx won't like to hide in this one!)

  • A special treat for a special friend

    Thursday, March 7, 2013

My Best friend Jodie is a massive Beyonce fan and was overjoyed when Beyonce announced she was doing a world tour including the UK.

When tickets went on sale for "The Mrs Carter Show World Tour" she tried and tried to get tickets, sitting on the computer and phone trying over and over with no joy.
Sadly after just minutes all dates sold out and my bestie was gutted she missed out.

Then when they released 2 new London dates she got her hopes up again but again missed out on tickets after the sold out in record time.

She was devastated and had even been looking on some very expensive ticket resale sites where tickets where selling 3 or 4 times face value much more than she could afford.

What I hadn't told her is I had entered a competition I found on ThePrizefinder to win two tickets.

Being Beyoncé, a very popular artist, and a sold out tour I knew it would be a hugely popular competition and I didn't rate my chances of winning so I thought it was best not to mention it and get her hopes up.

Imagine my joy and surprise when I received an email to say I had won. It was a great moment for me but it was an even more amazing moment ringing my best friend and telling her the news.

Needless to say she was over the moon and if I am honest no one deserves a treat more than her.
She has had a very difficult time lately with a poorly son with a rare life limiting illness and she has been quite poorly herself. I have wanted to do something special for her for a while and this is a dream come true.

This hobby is the best anyway but it's even better when it also benefits those you love the most. Thank you ThePrizefinder. Without this site I would never have won and been able to spoil my best friend who I love millions.

  • Winning on the Internet

I used to do competitions out of magazines and won a few small prizes occasionally. But when I finally got my computer I realised that there was a whole host of competition sites to look at - that list competitions daily and being able to pick and choose what I wanted to enter helped. Having family members and friends in various ages and sizes helped. I can enter for myself and the others and anything else that isn't suitable (second-prizes maybe), I don't put on Ebay but they get sent to the charity shops. Since I found the competition sites I have won quite a bit. Not really the "big" prizes, but stuff like books (read everything and anything), DVDs, an more up-to-date phone and various items of clothing for my niece (she's a small 12). I have to say a huge "thanks" to ThePrizeFinder as it is always full of great prizes and any "down" time the site has is posted the day before. Keep up the great work.

  • My comping history

I started comping in 2010 after having my daughter. I had a couple of daft wins, an omega 3 gift pack and a silly hat , but then I was amazed when I got a phone call from Daybreak to say I had won a holiday to Australia and 3 grand spends. Woohoo!
The next year I won a PS3 , Disney on Ice tickets and a Spanish food hamper.
Obviously I got addicted from there. The holiday was amazing and this year I once again won Disney on Ice tickets (My daughter loves it) , and a full set of princess Evie books and this time both myself and my girl loves reading them. Good luck to all comping. Keep at it - even now and again wins make you smile .

  • February's wins

    Tuesday, March 5, 2013

February has been relatively successful for me - 5 prizes from the Sweet n Low instant win competition, Mary Berry's Complete Cookbook, a fitness DVD, a t-shirt, a sleepsuit (pictured), a potty training starter pack, Cath Kidston handbag on Winneroo, GOSH mascara, a Fisher Price Laugh & Learn puppy, an Oriflame cosmetics bundle, a handmade felt purse, hat and arm warmers!

Can't wait to see what March brings me. It's only the 5th and I've already had 2 winner's emails. Still waiting on my biggie but I'll bide my time!

I've been entering competitions with Prizefinder for several years and had quite a few wins - some bigger than others, but all welcome.

I've never gone in for skill based competitions. I've never been happy with my attempts and, probably like a lot of other people, I can just imagine the judges laughing at my poor efforts!

But this year I resolved to try and enter some skill based competitions. I saw one on Prizefinder to win a Dove hamper by sending an inspitational motto. I chose "Self Esteem", gave it my best shot and just hit send - because if the judges did laugh, well .... I couldn't see them :-) . And I won!! A few days later a beautifully wrapped hamper arrived, perfect for a little pampering after a long cold Winter.

So my message to anyone else who doesn't think their efforts good enought to enter is - just go for it. You never know, it may pay dividends.

  • Holiday in Malta

My best win so far was last year when I won flights to Malta with Air Malta. I had to caption a photo of a sunset and cam up with, "Malta, where the sun sets over the med and leaves memories that last a lifetime". My holiday to Malta was amazing. Keep at the comps - the good prizes will come to those who enter and are patient.

  • Success - first time!

    Tuesday, March 5, 2013

I won on my first entry with The Prize Finder!

I'd heard about this fab website through Compers News - I've been subscribing with them for years. I've been a successful comper for many years but the hobby has changed dramatically over the last few years, now it's all Facebook, Twitter, Blog, stuff I'm not so comfortable with. But it's a great hobby and I knew I had to get into the 21st century or get left behind. The Prize Finder makes it so easy - even for a dinosaur like me!

I love the 'skill based' comps - I won a car on a slogan back in 1995 - a magical moment I'll never forget. So I clicked on the 'skill-based' option and away I went.

Rightmove.co.uk had a comp to tell an anecdote about moving house. I had a great anecdote - yes it was true - and lo and behold I won. £50 worth of M&S vouchers.

Now I'm truly hooked on The Prize Finder and I'm officially no longer a dinosaur!
