  • A Greek Win!

I won a box of 30 seaweed snacks in the new year, a nice unusual win but not enough to justify spending the time it takes to enter 500+ comps per month. I have had nothing since then but have persevered, at times thinking I would give up because I wasn't winning. Last week I actually had my 2nd win this year, a Greek hamper from All Greek Delicatessen in Birmingham, organised by Dine Birmingham. It was filled with Olive oil, Chocolate cookies, Olives with chilli, stuffed peppers with feta cheese, honey with chilli, Olive paste, pasta, tomoto sauce and almond chocolate. I was thrilled with the win as it was a local collection prize meaning I got to visit the owner and get to know a bit about the products. Now I am still going to try and comp but I am not going to get down when I don't win, just do a few here and then when my baby daughter is sleeping and hope for another lovely surprise x

I won a confidence grant with Head&Shoulders. I got a photoshoot with Glamour magazine, to be published soon, eek...I'm going to be famous (well kinda!) and a day with a life coach and personal shopping experience. It involved travel for me and a friend and a night in a hotel and all taxis paid for. I turned up at the hotel expecting a lovely room only to be upgraded to a suite, whilst getting over that shock the door went and I got a bottle of champagne and 7 cakes from their shop. I had an amazing time at the photoshoot the following day and felt like a proper A-list Celeb in my Stella McCartney dress....Now all I have to do now is find a cash win to get my dress for real.
Thanks Prizefinder, I highly recommend you!!!

  • Jane Birkin Album

I have entered a lot of competitions this month as it is the best way to win something. I was just beginning to wonder when the next prize would come in, when it landed. It is Jane Birkin's latest album, Mes Images Privees De Serge, a double CD, and DVD, I am listening to it now. I have not heard Mon Amour Baiser in years, she does a really nice version.

  • £250 to spend on t-shirts at Seventyseven Apparel

After basically winning nothing for a while, I've had a few wins recently, almost one a week. I found out this week that I'd won £250 to spend on t-shirts from Seventyseven Apparel. Which is probably the best thing to happen right now because I don't have a lot of money at the moment and I really needed some new clothes. I recently won vouchers for other clothing stores, so lots of free clothes!

  • Michelin Competition

Just back from a fabulous 4 day trip to France courtesy of Michelin & Top Gear.

Was flown out to Clermont Ferrand, south of Paris, put up in a 4 star hotel overnight. Next day we were taken to the Michelin factory for a private tour, including being shown how tyres are made. Then lunch at the towns rugby club, very nice. The afternoon was spent being driven round the Michelin race track at their HQ, 160+ mph, plus drifting and aquaplaning sessions.

To round the day off we were taken to a Michelin star restuarant, for 8 courses of fabulous food, plus a chance to meet the Michelin head... then back to the hotel.

Next day,a private tour of the Michelin museum of transport, then the rest of the day to ourselves. Another night in the posh hotel, then limo to the airport and home...

Thanks Michelin & top Gear - and thanks Prize Finder!

  • (Very) Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

    Saturday, May 3, 2014

I was going through a rather lengthy dry spell following quite a good December and January. Goody bags, DVDs, bar tabs and even £250 were some of the things I won over Christmas and New Year. However, from mid-February until late March I went without winning a thing. Then I got a call from the Metro telling me I had won a prize. The prize turned out to be a year's funding at the Open University worth up to £5280 AND an iPad. I have now enrolled to start an English MA in October. The T&Cs also stated the iPad would be an 8GB iPad up to £330 which should have been the iPad 4 but when it arrived it turned out to be the more expensive 16GB iPad Air. An added bonus. I thought it would be years before I could afford to take my Masters degree after graduating last year but now it seems I will only have to pay around £1500 for it, whereas before it would have been upwards of £8000 for the full course. Probably my best and most useful win to date.

  • My First Win After A 2 Year Break From Comping!

    Posted by Higson

    Friday, May 2, 2014

    Hi Everybody,

After a 2 year break from comping I recently decided to give it another go and after a week of entering have won my 1st prize!
A VIP trip for myself and 4 friends to see Grease at a drive in movie theatre in a classic American car!
Things are pretty tight money wise at the moment which was my main reason for comping again (in the hope of a big ITV win) but little bonuses like this make it worth while!
So roll on 9th August, cant wait!
Good luck to everybody else and here's to more wins!

    Matt
