I had already had quite a few nice wins this year and was pretty pleased. I had won a bonsai tree from a gardening comp, a £120 sports watch from a jewellery comp and a divine chocolate hamper from OK magazine (which my husband and I devoured in a weekend!)Then two weeks ago I had a phone call from a lovely man from Magic FM informing me that I had won a grand from a competition that I entered with McCain. All I had to do was write about the good stuff that happened at tea time. I just wrote honestly about what had happened and the conversations that took place over my families tea time that weekend. I never dreamt that I would actually stand a chance of winning and I still can't believe it even though the money is now sitting in my bank account. My family have also been asked to submit a short 5-10 second video of us all sat round the table at tea time enjoying our tea for McCain to use in their next TV ad. I am still trying to convince all of my family to take part!

Small wins but it all counts!
Saturday, February 20, 2016
This month has brought the tiniest of prizes - a face mask by Star Glow which I won via a twitter comp so very little effort required.
Even the small prizes give me a little buzz as it all adds up!
At the moment I'm trying to take more time to do some of the effort competitions so I hope to be reporting back on some wins from them shortly!
Good luck everyone
A Rexel-ent Prize!
Friday, February 19, 2016
I am delighted to report only my third ever win on Twitter, with a creative comp, where Rexel asked us to submit a picture of our dull desk, and mine won the dullest! I received a lovely parcel full of beautiful sky blue desk accessories to brighten up my desk - see below for the winning pic, they chose it out of lots of entries - and now my desk is very colourful indeed, which is just as well as I have just gone self-employed as an audio-transcriber, and need to be very professional with my time!! Thank you Prizefinder for putting me onto this great comp!
February wins

Having a really good start to the comping year - have won £100 Amazon vouchers, a bottle of Jimmy Choo perfume from a creative slogan on a perfume sites blog (really happy with this one), mug and soup from the Tesco giveaway, face mask, pizza from Facebook and am awaiting a hamper of Thortons and Renshaw goodies - really looking forward to that! Oh and a luxury afternoon tea from Bents, a posh local garden centre. Still having best success with creative entries and find them more fun to enter so will carry on and see if I can tick anything else off my wish-list!
Delayed beginners luck
Thursday, February 18, 2016
So my best man for my upcoming wedding has been comping for years with his wife and had always told me to have a go. I finally relented last year and started doing some Twitter competitions, I got a pair of tickets to a fashion show but apart from that didn't get any wins so gave up feeling a bit disheartened. I decided to give it another go about a month and a half ago and all of a sudden my luck seems to have changed! I first won a bottle of flavoured vodka, quickly followed by a pulled pork rub - not too shabby I thought. I then managed to win a steam cleaner, a 40" smart TV and a £100 voucher for a outdoor clothing company, all within the space of a couple of weeks. I couldn't believe it, Lady Luck seems to be smiling down on me at the moment.
Finally an end to my dry spell... and what a win
Thursday, February 18, 2016
I've always loved comping since I started 4 years ago and have had some good wins, averaging about 25 per year, however after all my efforts in December and in the advents I hadn't won anything. Then January came around and I thought my luck would be in, but again I didn't win anything for the whole month. I had considered taking a break as I wasn't winning but decided to keep entering everyday, then in early February I had a winning email informing me I had won tickets and a tip to the BAFTA's! I am a film student so couldn't have won a better prize, it included:
-Travel
-London hotel accommodation at The Strand Palace Hotel
-Dinner at Bedford & Strand restaurant
-Access to Red Carpet viewing area at Covent Garden.
-Two tickets to the EE British Academy Film Awards
This is the best prize I have ever won as it was really a once in a lifetime, money can't buy experience - we even made it onto the news coverage if the red carpet! Sadly I don't know where I won it from as I entered every BAFTA competition I could find and the email did not mention the company. Keep comping if you are having a dry spell, you never know what amazing prize would be round the corner!

When I was announced as a winner on Toby Toymaster fb page last week, it was incredible knowing that I won my little boy's dream prize, Butch the dinosaur. However, when the prize arrived, I almost cried when I discovered other amazing goodies they sent us with the prize. Incredible!
Using My Passion to Win Prizes
Wednesday, February 10, 2016
I am a big fan of technology, gadgets and ideas. So, whenever I see a chance to use my tech ideas to win prizes, I jump at the chance. I regularly search Twitter using the keywords such as 'win idea,' 'innovation competition' and 'win tech'.
In December, I entered an idea for a contest run by Orange (the telecommunications company). They wanted ideas on how to combat climate change. So, I entered an idea that combined an app and a small-scale module called a hydroponic for people to produce their own food (vegetables and fish). The logic being that if people could produce their own food close to their homes less fuel would be spent transporting food and it would be better for the environment.
My idea was one of the top ideas and I won a weather station for my Dad. He now knows what the weather is like outside before he even steps out of bed.
