    Just returned from a fab weekend away in Cornwall courtesy of Optiwell on Twitter. We glamped in an amazing building called The Well House for 3 nights, they gave us bike hire for the day (we managed 22 miles!), £80 towards food and drink in a beautiful local pub and a massage each on the final day. Must have been about £500 worth in total. Was a fantastic break away in the beautiful UK.

    I have had a really good year so far but July has been slow for me. I have no interest in BBQ's, footballs, festival tickets and holidays so prizes I want are few and far between. I managed at least to win a a years supply of cleaning wipes from Iceland on Facebook - my kind of prize! I have had to store most of them in the garage as they all came at once. Here they are in the hall;

  • My biggest win of the year

    This year started off badly with just 3 wins in January worth £34, 6 wins in February, 4 in March, 6 in April, 9 in May, and 3 in June. So I was not expecting anything nice in July either.

    But then I had a message from another Facebooker to say had I seen my win of a watch? So I went to look and there it was - Winner Heather Cain wins the Hamilton Khaki X-Wind Auto Chronograph watch - The company on Facebook is Chisholm Hunter and the watch is worth £1,035.00

    I simply cannot believe that I have won such a wonderful prize.

    It just goes to show that even though sometimes you don't get many wins, despite doing hundreds of comps a week, that it IS worth it to carry on. So many times I have been downhearted and felt like giving up.

    Its a mans watch so my husband has it, next I want to win something for me.

    Also how kind is it that a fellow Facebooker alerted me to the win, as the Company hadn't tagged my name, just written it!

  • heinz condiments set

    I had a winning email to say I had won a Heinz condiments set a holder filled with various heinz products My family are great fans of heinz products so thought it would be a good prize to win plus it would look nice on the table instead of all the seperate bottles 6 weeks passed and I still hadn't received it so I phoned heinz and spoke to someone in customer services who told me the comp was only for people who owned a resturant or cafe. When I told her there was nothing stating this on the entry form I was told it was in the terms and conditions which I had not read so no prize after all so I would say please encourage all your faithfull compers to please read the terms and conditions before entering any comps so you can avoid the disapointment thinking you have won when in fact you have not

  • A 'comforting' year

    Posted by TPF_Jo

    When a prize offers ‘a year’s supply of’ something, I’ve often wondered how it would be calculated. I recently found out having won a year’s supply of a brand new Comfort Intense Fabric Conditioner in the Comfort Big Bang competition.

    My eagerly anticipated prize arrived in three boxes: a good sign. As well as three fragrances (sunburst, ocean pearl and fuschia) there were two sizes - 5 large each doing 64 washes and 12 smaller ones for 38 washes i.e. a total of 776 loads of washing.

    Now bearing in mind there are only the two of us, we’re retired so no dirty work clothes and, we often travel for three months of the year (hopefully on holiday’s we’ve won), we calculated our prize would last over 10 years.
    However, I love sharing my winnings and so when visiting friends for dinner, I’ve taken a bottle of wine, and a bottle of Comfort (disguised in a wine bag), or left one on the doorstep (like a milk bottle) the following day with a thank you card attached.

    It also makes doing the washing a slightly more interesting experience and as all I did was enter my details, it reminds me that entering this type of competition can be lucrative.
