Hello everyone! How was your weekend, any nice wins to report? Just one more win to report here since we last spoke – a case of white wine from Isla Negra on Facebook, which will be lovely when it arrives! Well, we are in the last few days of the summer holidays now, time for just a few last treats before the little ones head back to school. We have a few outings and special meals planned between now and Wednesday, and the girls have requested a platter tea with nachos for their “last supper” on Wednesday, which I am sure I can accommodate. We have had a lovely summer, despite the not very summery weather at times, but we are looking forward to autumn now, new starts at school and enjoying the new season.
August was a pretty good month, considering I didn’t have as much time to comp as I would have liked and we have had the kids at home all month. Managed to win 14 prizes this month, most of which were small but some nice bigger ones too – here is a run-down of what I won
- 3 Goodreads books
- Some whey powder and a magazine, from LA Muscle and Emerald Street
- Yoghurt covered cranberries, from Holland & Barrett on facebook
- A surprise children’s book, from Annabel Karmel
- A British Wildlife Handbook, from the Miles Keily book giveaway
- A Malibu Skater dress, from Coco & Cleo on twitter
- A surprise Minions sticker album and stickers, from Go Girl magazine
- A few pints of Carling beer, from their iPint app
- A romantic mini-break in Oxfordshire, from Mills & Boon
- A case of white wine, from Isla Negra on Facebook
- A yoga mat, from The Sun via email
So as you can see my prize sources have been pretty well spread this month – Facebook, witter, email, post and online entry! I haven’t had as much time to do my social media comps as I would normally, which is why I have had only a few wins from there. Nice to see some email entry comps paying off too though, and the surprise wins are always a pleasure! My favourite win this month is predictably the romantic mini-break from Mills & Boon! It consists of a one night stay at a B&B in Henley and a two hour tour of the vineyard and brewery with ample tastings! It is a Virgin Experience day, so we can take it whenever we can, or whenever we can sort some childcare from my parents!
Enough of my wins though, let’s see what all you lovely people have been winning in between the sunshine and showers:
Goatinaboat won some lovely prizes including a Guess How Much I love you book from Annabel Karmel and a free dish from Wagamamas on Twitter, and cazzycaz started the month well by winning a beauty bundle worth £65+. Gorts17 had some fab wins this month including a Snuggle Sac from The Baby Website and a pair of V Festival day passes from Heat World, and Lindowal broke their dry spell this month by winning a copy of the book I am Pilgrim in a Facebook comp. Saresare had a very lucky month winning such lovely prizes as a copy of the book The Death of Anton, some Haribo, a pair of football season tickets, tickets to the We Are You Friends premier and a pair of Leeds Festival tickets – lots foe exciting times! Laura44v won herself a wonderful workout outfit worth £120 from the Cooler website, and maybe she should get together with sarat who has been enjoying their win of gluten free cakes, brownies and bread mixes and could probably use a session at the gym to counteract all the yummy goodies! Kslade had another good month winning a box of tea and a £60 cheque from the daily Directline competition, and villagefox received some great prizes too this month including a Bob bop bag from the Frubes on-pack promotion, a Yellowbird DVD, a cuddly toy from The Deep and a tree to dedicate from the Woodland Trust in a Twitter party. Joan had a very useful win of some travel toiletries and big repellent worth £79 from a Woman’s Own comp, and Benthebrindle won an equally useful cooks blow lamp from Lakeland on facebook – all round to yours for Crème Brûlée!
Jacquiann01 had a cautionary tale this month, losing out on a £500 gift voucher in a facebook comp, the notification for which she had missed in her Facebook “Others” messages folder. Unfortunately the prize had been redrawn, and she wanted to remind other members to check their “Others” and “Spam” folders regularly, so they don’t miss out on wins too.
I think my favourite member win this moth was a prize that Jan18 told us about. Jan has had a break from comping of about six months, but on her return to the hobby this month she has already bagged herself £500 of new kitchen worktops from Your Home magazine! So it just goes to show, whether you have been comping for years or weeks you can still win fabulous prizes by using The PrizeFinder – well done Jan!
Let us all know how you get on with September’s comps by commenting below with your wins. Don’t forget to upload a photo of your wins too for a chance to win a £50 voucher here.
I look forward to hopefully being able to share more of my own wins next month, and to reading all about yours!
Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky dust to you all!
