Hello again compers! Well, there’s no delaying it any further, the summer holidays are pretty much finally here for most of us! My youngest is at her pre-school leavers’ trip today, and my eldest breaks up on Wednesday, so we are practically there. Even if you don’t have little ones at home, summer definitely feels like it is upon us now, and we start spending more time outside and planning how we want to spend our summer months – enjoying the garden, reading lots of good books sat in the sunshine, BBQs, visiting houses and gardens, days at the beach, what’s on your “To Do list”?
No big foreign holiday for us this year, so we will be enjoying all that the Island has to offer locally, and planning a few days trips and short breaks to the mainland to let the children experience London for the first time, and to visit relatives too. I have been lucky enough to win a few summer related prizes and supplies – a personalised art kit that I will bring out on long train trips, a summer beach ball, bat & ball and sun cream set for beach days, and a subscription to a children’s magazine that will keep my eldest occupied on car and train journies – a few nice bits I have squirreled away!
