Submitted by tpf_kirsty on Mon, 2015-12-28 11:38

Hello everyone!  How are you all doing with January comps; anything nice to report?  Here we are with the next Lucky New Year 2016 daily competition.  Once again we have another £10 Amazon voucher up for grabs and this time we want to hear your best comping tips.  To enter you need to be a registered PrizeFinder member and logged into your account to leave me a comment with your tips.  My best tip is to be selective and patient – believe you will win and don’t be disheartened when it doesn’t happen overnight.  You have until 23:59 tonight (3rd January 2016) so get your thinking caps on!

Don’t forget that every entry you make into the daily Lucky New Year competitions gets you one entry into the Grand Prize Draw for £100!

I look forward to reading all your entries.

Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky dust to you all!

Kirsty x

I enjoy and spend coming time as my time my advise is to ask your friends to share and tag you so if your short on time you don't miss out.

But also don't just rely on Facebook there are so many more

Remember it's supposed to be fun - if it starts to become a chore then take a break for a while. Don't enter something that you can't or won't use, eg tickets for a event too far away; save your time for something relevant to you.

My comping tip is to socialise and make friends with other compers on all the social media networks, that way you get to see some great comps being shared around. The more people your following the more comps you will see.

Write down a list of items you really want to win and then use selective searches to enter just for what u want or need ..This will also drastically reduce your comping time !

My best tip, in terms of finding out if you've won, is to always comment on Facebook competitions, even if they don't ask you to. A lot of companies don't tag or message the winner, they just announce it in the comments of the original competition post, so no one is notified. If you're lucky, a fellow-comper will tag you but, if you've commented, you'll get a Facebook notification saying ''Company' has also commented on their post" - then you'll know to check that to see if you've won. If you haven't commented, just liked the post, you won't get that notification.

Be organised or you will waste loads of time by having to find that comp you wanted to enter again, check if you've already entered, find where you put the receipt you needed, you get the idea. And always, always say thank You when you receive your prize.

My tip has been learnt from experience check dates for any prizes that involve events and double check you are available if lucky!

My top tip is to focus on entering comps you really want to win! That way you will get more satisfaction out of the prizes you do win.

My tip is to go for lots of little prizes that you want, and a few of the big ones. Your more likely to win the little ones, and that keeps things chugging along nicely.

Go for local competitions in your area because they tend to have few entries. We have won 3 out of the last 4 competitions in our local magazine (maybe because we are the only ones who enter?) They have all been postal entries so maybe people are being put off by the cost of a stamp and trying to find or make a postcard entry!

Preparation, preparation, Preparation ! This year I intend to not rush into anything. Think seriously about the ones I do want to enter and make sure I do a good job of them.

Something my mum once told me .....if at first you don't succeed try try and try again - same applies for comping yur not going to win everything but keep going through the dry spells and eventually you will win again.

My tip is to enter and then forget about it - then if you get a winner's notification it's a nice surprise and you won't obsess about how many you have entered and haven't won!

I only ever enter things I want to win so it's fair on people who actually would like or need a prize for example children's ones as I have no kids at the mo :) good luck all!!

My tip is to always tell the truth, if they ask for childhood memories, think back and relay a story from when you were 5 years of age, it will be unique and sound more authentic. If the competition requires your favourite recipe select one that you have actually tried and has been successful, even post a photo if you have one. Always be true to yourself and others.

Read the terms and conditions to make sure you are eligible to enter the competition.
Don't just assume that the suggested answer on this site is right. Mistakes can happen.

Make sure to read comping blogs to learn which comping websites not to use, such as MyOffers etc, to save yourself from wasting your precious time on comps you won't win and the pestering PPI calls.

As well as doing all the Prizefinder comps Look for local competitions in newspapers, in the shops and on their facebook pages. They often have good prizes and fewer entries

My tip is to have a relaxed approach while entering competitions, not to spend all day entering and not winning and getting frustrated. Treat it like a hobby and enjoy the opportunity to enter these free comps it is a lottery after all,and anybody who's anybody can win.
