Recently lots of you have been asking us comping questions both here on the blog and on our Facebook page. So we thought it would be a good idea to collate them all together and put together a series of blog posts and do some Facebook 'comping clinics' to offer advice and tips on your favourite hobby!
If you have any questions please feel free to leave them here as a comment, email them through to me at di@theprizefinder.com (use the subject 'Comping Questions') tweet them to us or post them on our Facebook page.
Here are some suggestions for topics we could cover:
• Postal competitions
• Roboform
• Automated entry services
• Competition magazines
• Photo/video competitions
• Facebook competitions
• Voting competitions
• Organising your emails
• Twitter
• Blog giveaways
• Finding competitions
• Terms and Conditions
…but we welcome questions about ANYTHING at all comping-related! I'll regularly choose a topic to cover on the blog and we can have a Facebook chat about it too.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Is it really worth entering
Is it really worth entering comps with the big companies that get you to fill in surveys/questionnaires which try to get you to sign up to be called by other services? I don't have a lot of spare time and it feels like a waste when I could be doing a job application instead (not that I have any luck with those either). How many people enter these comps compared to, say, filling in a form when you don't have to register to anything?
Moreover, I always go through and say I don't want to be contacted by anyone about double glazing/no win no fee claims/winning a FREE!!! makeover etc etc, so do they have anything in their small print to discard entries from people that don't take up any of these "offers"?
Opting out of further
Opting out of further communication should have no effect on your chances as the winners should be selected randomly by computer. However, you ARE reducing your chances of hearing about future promotions by doing so! I find plenty of rare promotions in my junk email & snail mail. With the survey sites though, I do find myself regularly unsubscribing from repetitive email marketing - it's relatively easy to do this, so you could opt in at competition stage... and then opt out later on!
Hi Di,
If you did win an online competition and ITV were trying to get hold of you, would they leave a message or try again? I have got a few missed calls from a blocked number or would they also text you or email you?
Thank you.
