Share Your August Wins

Hello again everyone, how is your week going; any nice wins to report?  So, here we are again in another new month – August already!  This year is speeding by now at a great rate!  We have been away on our family summer holiday to Corfu, the girls are enjoying their break from school and I am finding that I am struggling to fit any good comping in!  Still, mustn’t grumble as the weather has been so glorious, and we probably won’t see another summer like this for a good while – be autumn again before we all know it!

Even with some seriously busy working hours and a week away, I still managed to win four nice prizes during July 2018 – let’s take a closer look:

• A case of glacier mints & fruits, from Fox’s Glacier on Twitter
• A £5 Amazon voucher, from a Facebook group comp
• A surprise Zimpli Kids Slim Blaster, from a children’s magazine comp
• An apron, from a Facebook comp

Okay, so my prizes this month aren’t going to change the world or mean I can retire early, but they all came in handy.  The sweets were perfect for our recent flights to Greece, the Amazon voucher is put away with the rest of the Christmas Amazon stash, the Slime Blaster made a great gift for a friend’s son and I didn’t own an apron until I won one, so that suited me fine!

Let’s see what goodies some of our lucky members have been winning during July 2018:

Binty62 wrote and told us about their very first win from their very first month of comping: a fabulous holiday in North Devon! That’s a brilliant prize to win even for an experienced comper, let alone someone so new to the hobby – well done!  Beccyj had some lovely wins this month including a family pass to Paultons Park, and an amazing three course meal made at her home by a private chef for up to six people – enjoy your night off from the cooking and washing up!  Villagefox had a month off comping during June but is back in her winning ways this month with a Pokémon bundle from a children’s magazine for her son – nice one!  Joan won herself a Noughty Natural Haircare bundle from Yours magazine; and Lukesmummy won even MORE tickets this month; this time for LoveBNI festival – you really are the ticket winning queen!  Dominosue told us that she had a month of “small but very welcome wins” this moth including some Walkers sharing bowls, Crabbies sunglasses, Irn Bru flip flops and FIFA Ultimate Team shirts – brilliant haul, well done!

Mapleacorn got in touch this month to tell us about the lovely prizes they had won for their horse including a saddle cloth and a fleece show rug.  However, this was a cautionary tale as both wins were announced on Facebook, but the promoter did not tag her name!  It is good practice to make a note to return to social media pages to find out the winner of certain competitions; especially if they are likely to be low entry or are for a prize you really want to win.  A lot of promoters still don’t tag winners properly, so unless a chum spots your name and tags you, you won’t always know if you have won.  Thanks for reminding us all to be vigilant Mapleacorn!
