Hello everyone! How was your week, any nice wins to report? Can you believe we are in April already? It is officially spring, the clocks have gone forward and the promise of summer isn’t far behind. If you have little ones are they off for the Easter holidays and have you managed to get any comping done with them home? I find it very hard to juggle everything with the kiddos off school, but we muddle through.
March was more or less an unmitigated failure in terms of prize wins for me – just four to report for me over the last month – let’s take a look at my meager winnings:
- A box of Macarons, as a runners’ up prize from the #MacaronManicure photo competition
- A £25 John Lewis voucher, from a Twitter party
- A giant bubble making wand, from a Twitter party
- A Crabbies ginger beer glass, from their instant win comp
Looking back at my prizes I really can’t complain. I love winning prizes for the girls and who doesn’t love winning vouchers. I have quite a good success rate with Twitter parties, having won four prizes from that means so far this year, so if you haven’t taken part in one yet why not have a go.
Enough about me in any case, let’s see what some of our lovely members have been winning during March 2016:
Benthebrindle had some instant wins this month including a football on the Walkers-on pack competition and a soup mug and can from Crosse & Blackwell, and Sloopy123 told us of their fab wins this month of a pizza voucher, a Sanctuary Spa hamper, some shower gel and a Bergans jacket worth £299 – fabulous! Laura44v had another great month over March racking up such lovely wins as a bridal shower stationery package, a set of gold kitchen utensils worth £65 and a bundle of tights. VillageFox returned after a few weeks off in March and managed to win a mega blocks first builder bundle, some books, a soup mug and can, 2 x a £25 shopping vouchers and some Fisher Price toys. Hamish666 may not have felt he had a prolific comping month but some curry paste is def better (and taster) than nothing along with some reading glasses and movie premier tickets, Prodigal won some tights and a tie and Wifey1815 had a great first week of comping bagging herself a soup mug and can. Dig76’s daughter was no doubt pleased with the bundle of books they won, and although kayaaaa had a busy month she still managed to win a vintage style clutch bag and a coffee machine with biscuits and a rugby ball. After a dry spell Gillz broke the drought in March by winging herself two places on a cooking course and Goatinaboat broke their drought too by having a surprise package of Pip Ahoy goodies turn up from a children’s website.
Hazy1221 proved that it doesn’t matter how long your dry spell has been or how much mojo you have lot there is always the possibility of a big win just round the corner. After getting frustrated with a few years of minimal prizes she has over the last month managed to win tickets for Jackie the Musical and then a bike in a slogan competition on Facebook – something she was thinking of buying, which she now doesn’t have to, well done!
I saw several winners winning compression tights this month – it may sound a bit of an unglamorous prize, but at £30 each they were definitely not a cheap prize - well done all!
My fave winning story this month comes from Phoenix who is a brand new comper, only starting during March. However after only three weeks of comping they managed to bag themselves a blood pressure monitor and a bundle of health goodies from Yours magazine! That is a really lovely way to start your comping hobby, and I hope to see you post lots more wins in the coming months!
Let us know how you get on with April’s comps by commenting below with your wins. Don’t forget to upload a photo of your wins too for a chance to win a £50 voucher here.
I look forward to hopefully being able to share more of my own wins next month, and to reading all about yours!
Happy comping everyone, and lots of Lucky dust to you all!
Kirsty x

Hello all, I tend to have dry spells as well, think it may be down to not organising myself and apathy. However I have just won a trip to LA with Capital Radio. Prize includes flights, 4 nights in 4* hotel and $250 spending money. Needless to say I am completely re-invigorated and "comping" like mad again

Hi Bryony and welcome to the wonderful world of copming! Keep at it and be consistent and I am sure you will start to see results. We advise that consistent comping over a three month period should be the minimum tie to see your first wins, but try your luck at local comps, twitter parties, instant wins, creative comps and Instagram too if you have it to find some lower entry comps to keep you going until your first big win! Good luck x
