Hello everyone! How is your week going, any nice wins to report? Well the time has arrived, that magical time that compers either dread or look forward to all year – THE ADVENTS!! By the time you read this here should be a healthy amount of advent competitions already available to get you feeling festive! For those of you who have never undertaken the advents before basically a huge amount of daily entry competitions, usually only open for 24 hours or less, available across social media, online and even instant wins! There will be hundreds available every day, each offering fabulous prizes ranging from books, concert tickets, the latest gadgets and even holidays! Well predictably November was a pretty slow month, as I spent much of it getting things ready here for the Advents as well as getting the house ready for the Christmas season. I did however manage to win three nice prizes during the month – let’s take a look:
- A Star Wars Aquabeads set, from their Facebook comp
- A Wilbur advent calendar, from British Gas on Twitter
- A Molton Brown hand care set, from their instant win game
I was particularly pleased with the Molton brown win as that game had been my nemesis – if you haven’t tried it yet do have a go!
Before we get into the frenzy that is the Advents, let’s take a look at what some of our lovely members have been winning during November 2016:
After a dry spell in October Buttons23 was back into winning ways this month winning such lovely things as some sheepskin slippers worth £85, a children’s book, the new TMNT movie on DVD, and some Power Rangers goodies – good going! After some time off on holiday Joan was back and winning – a Blu-ray box set and a copy of “Baked” by Adelle Smith, well done! Lots of members won free nights from Jet2 in their recent instant win comp, and Leonirudge won a lovely mini cruise from DFDS in their spin the wheel game. Mapleacorn had some nice wins for her wedding this month including wedding favours, table numbers, cake toppers, a wash & blow dry from a local salon and even a videographer! Lish2013 had a sparkly month winning a £50 Tru Diamonds voucher, and Hamish666 won a yoghurt maker from a blog comp – yummy! Villagefox had another great month winning goodies including a Transformers DVD, a signed copy of “Haunt Me” and some toys from Toy Toymaster, and Lindowal won £100 to spend at the Lighthouse Clothing website – well done!
I specifically wanted to congratulate detector76 who wrote to us this month to tell us about their win. Having started comping on the Sunday they managed to win a fabulous cottage mini break with the Red Tractor instant win! What a way to start a comping hobby, well done!
Several members have complained of having a dry spell over the last few months, but rest assured this is quite normal. Think of it as the calm before the very large storm that is December in the comping world. Stay consistent, be specific about the prizes you want to win and get yourself nicely organised for the Advents and all will be fine – keep calm and carry on comping!
