Last December I got an email telling me I had won an 8 day river cruise through Red Magazine / Riviera Travel. I honestly thought it was a scam to start off with, as you do. Anyway we got to speak to Riviera Travel and confirm all the details. We chose the Medieval Germany trip which we went on in May. We honestly couldn't believe it and even right up until we go the keys to our cabin we were expecting to be stopped to be told "ha ha it was just a joke" but it really wasn't!! Absolutely everything was included. All we had to do was get to London for the flight. The trip itself was a once in a lifetime experience, as it was worth in excess of £6,300 so definitely out of our price bracket! Everyone we cam across, (both passengers and staff) were all amazing and the food was to die for. It is by far the best prize I have won so far. I have however also followed that up with a honeymoon (even though we have been married for 37 years) to Sri Lanka, which we go on in January 2025. The river cruise was a real bucket list moment though as we had both wanted to go on a cruise but had never been able to do so. We now have the bug however and we want to try a ocean cruise next time. I’ll keep entering competitions to try and win one but in the meantime, as I don’t want to come across as too greedy, we will have a look at booking one!!
